Programs Food Bank Assistance
Let’s be aware and help each other. We are here and ready to serve.
Our Present Hours of Operation Are as Follows:
Monday to Friday – 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM (We will be closed Good Friday and Easter Monday)
Due to COVID-19, our process is as follows:
• Only 1 person permitted in the front vestibule at a time;
• Each person is to respect the 6 foot social distancing rule;
• For safety, your prepacked articles will be placed on a table for you to receive;
• Please do not wait to come back for food as all waiting periods are waived at this time.
We apologize for any lineup delays that could occasionally occur, but we ask for patience and support for each other at this time.
With cases of COVID-19 increasing, we want to be diligent in protecting our clients, volunteers and staff. If you have been out of the country in the last 14 days, or if you are not feeling well, and are in need of assistance, please call us at (905-637-3893) and we will conduct our intake protocol virtually and make arrangements for you to pick up your food. Unfortunately grocery delivery is not possible.
Please visit our Website regularly before you visit the Food Bank for any Process / Procedural changes that could have changed with respect to how you receive your food.
During normal times, our Food Bank is designed for emergency support and our clients are able to shop for a variety of fresh, frozen and canned goods to tide them over for a few days until their next cheque arrives. We also provide a few personal hygiene products and some household cleaning supplies when they are available.
The Burlington Community & Family Services serves those in need in our community in a variety of ways. Our Food Bank is one of our most active programs. Each year we distribute food to more than 3000 area families. We also provide Christmas gifts and toys to close to 1000 area needy children and holiday meals to more than 800 families for preparation of a special Christmas meal.
